Chromkatgut is a sterile, surgical absorbable thread made from purified connective tissue (predominantly collagen) from the serosa of bovine or the submucosal fiber layer of sheep intestine. It is supplied in a solution of 89% isopropanol, 10% water and 1% triethanolamine. Chromium fiber is treated with a chromium salt solution.
