'Sodium Citrate tubes are mainly used for blood coagulation tests.
The tubes contain a tri-sodium citrate solution. When taking several blood samples from the same patient, the Sod/Citrate must never be the first sample taken. The tube should be turned upside down 8-10 times after blood sample collection.
